Marmot Furlong jacket is awesome!Mar 27, 2009

It is a bit pricey considering it is not a heavy winter coat, BUT it is VERY stylish and chic for ladies to wear around town or on a mild weather hike. The faux fur feels luxurious and the entire hood is lined in the faux fur so your head feels like it is being enveloped in warm softness! The sizes run SMALL so definitely get at least one size larger than normal, if not 2. I got mine at a retail store in Portland, OR for $100. There is another Marmot Furlong jacket out there for women that is similar to this one, but has a more rounded "scuba" hood and also has fur on the sleeves cuffs, and around the bottom of the jacket. It is also very cute and fitted, but I think the fur trim on this one is more elegant! Yay! I love this jacket!

I'm so bummed out - this seems like a GREAT jacket, but I bought it too large. Here's the thing, I typically wear an 8, which is considered medium size. On another review a reviewer stated it ran small - on this comment I bought large...WRONG. I DO need a medium & now I need to send back & start over & blah blah blah. This isa great jacket, but it's only going to keep you warm if it fits correctly. Please buy the appropriate size or check Marmot sizing before purchasing.

I purchased this jacket in hopes of having a trendy, brown jacket that could be worn as an everyday casual coat; I definately found it! The coat is more of a light weight jacket than it is a heavy duty winter one. I have gotten so many compliments on the jacket from men and women, just saying that they like the style of the coat. If anyone plans on this particular jacket being their primary coat for the cold winters in the the midwest or up near the Montana area, they might find themselves a bit on the chilly side.
As far as size goes, the jacket runs small. I normally wear a small jacket but had to get a medium in this particular one; it fits great. However, there isn't much room to layer if you only go one size up. If I would have gone with a large, I would be able to layer. It fits to the form of one's body and feels great overall.
Kudos to Marmot for designing such a cute jacket for mild weather.

Love this jacket. I receive many compliments on it. I went a size up (always a med.,but got a lg) to wear sweaters under,etc...I would only size up if you're 5'8" or taller-the sleeves are long on this. It brings warmth without the bulk and it's very stylish!

The jacket is advertised at $117. I go to purchase and the price is changed to $149.
