This is a nice warm polyester fleece sweater. Polyester is not as warm as wool, but it easier to take care of. Also, polyester dries quickly and retains some warmth in the rain, unlike cotton. The exterior surface has a denser weave than some other fleece, for a little extra wind blocking when you're not wearing a shell over it. Quality is very good for the $30 price.
The fit is very relaxed and roomy, so this is better for casual wear or travel than for sports. For sports use, you probably want something that fits more snuggly so it doesn't let all the heat out when you move around.
Also, the sizing system is very over-sized compared to other brands. I weigh 160 pounds and even the size small sweater is a little wide for me.

Wow, what a great sweatshirt. Super comfortable, incredibly warm. I'm tall (6'3" 180lbs) and the Large fits good and loose with plenty of room for layers, not that it needs them. I love the look of the shirt and it has held up very well to multiple washings. The only small drawback is that it can be too warm. :)

Nice fleece pullovers. They look dressy and are a little wider in the waist than many. Nice for every day wear.
May not be your best choice for super cold winter sports for that reason. Nice lining, super comfortable.
