 Very warm windproof pantsJan 09, 2010

I bought these pants so that I could walk my dog no matter how cold it gets this winter and I have really been putting them to the test. I have found them to be quite warm even when the temperature drops to 0. I didn't give them 5 stars because of 2 drawbacks. I am 5'4" and these pants are very difficult to shorten because of the design and they weren't available in different lengths. The second issue is that the waist is a little low on these. I would prefer a waist at my normal waist line on snow pants. Other than those 2 issues, I love these pants.

The Columbia Sportswear website says that the XL is equivalent to a 16/18 size. I usually wear a 14/16, and the XL was too big for me. The XL measured about 41" at the waist, and had a long inseam (32"). The pant leg is 22" around, both at the knee and at the bottom, which to me seems unnecessarily wide. Both the waist and the pant bottom can be tightened somewhat with velcro. The pants have zip front pockets and velcro back pockets.

These snow pants arrived yesterday (took 9 business days).
I already have a Columbia winter coat that's white and green so I was hoping that by buying white Columbia snow pants they would match.
These pants are not really white. They are more of a cream color.
Also, I wear a size 10/12 pant and I'm about 5'7" so I ordered the large snow pants. They are a bit too big around the waist and they are very long. I'm going to keep them anyways, but I thought I would warn y'all.

Just bought the pants and was able to use them in the northeastern storm we just had. Had drifts 3 to 4 feet tall.
Pants help up wonderfully and kept dry.
Pants are cream in color and biggest issue is the size. I am a size 12 pant and bought large. The waist is somewhat tight.
Pants are long so for short people, that would a problem.

I actually really like these pants! i wear around size 8-10 and ordered the medium and they fit but if i was to gain any weight they wouldn't so i ended up sending them back to get a bigger size. i'm so excited to get them and put them to good use. Dont be afraid to order the size up because they have a strap to tighten them and they also have belt loops if i remember right.
