Best solution for running with a lot of waterFeb 17, 2011
By Lanion Ive tried everything. Regular Camelbacks, race belts, etc. This is the best solution so far in terms of comfort.
Now, it is most appropriate for winter adventures. It would obviously be too warm to use in the summer. However, it will be my hydration source of choice for my upcoming ultra-marathon up Mount Mitchell. Everything stays warm so no risk of freezing, which is a major issue even with water bottles if the temperature is below 20F and you are outside for very long.
I only paid $40 as I purchased after peak season. Great product. Comfortable. Does make some sloshing noises, but doesn't bounce around or cause shoulder irritation like a back pack.
So, for skiing, winter running, or even winter biking where freezing water bottles is an issue, this is highly recommended!
Fantastic ProductFeb 11, 2011
By Jeffrey Garcia Used this vest to go skiing in New Hampshire/Vermont both with and without the water reservoir. I hardly noticed wearing the reservoir, except when sitting on the ski lift. The inner compression vest and supports did a good job of keeping everything in place; it did not impede my movement and the water didn't freeze with the hose kept under my jacket. The vest itself is pretty warm and wind resistant. My only recommendation is to buy a clip for the hose to keep it close, but out of the way. I would definitely buy this product again.
